I wanted to say thanks to the organisers and all the sponsors of the Swindon Half Marathon what a fantastic event!
This was my first half marathon and it was wonderful to run through our beautiful countryside and local villages.
I also wanted to say a big thank you to a lady called Jane from Ashton Keynes, who I met in the queue for the loo before the race.
We then ran the course together, chatting almost all the way around (although I was struggling to maintain our conversation by the time we ran back up Marlborough Road!)
Our constant conversation kept me going and took my mind off the distance. We chatted about everything from sports bras to our favourite cities around the world and we finished the half marathon after running together for two hours.
The feeling of elation and relief after completing the course was indescribable.
At the finish line Jane met up with her husband while I met my husband and children, so we hastily said goodbye and went our separate ways.
I was sorry I hadn't thanked her for keeping me going and being such a great running partner.
I would very much like to get in touch with Jane to say thank you, but as I don't have her contact details, maybe you could say thank you to her on my behalf.
What a great day to remember.
