GAZETTE: THE Multiple Sclerosis Society is holding its second annual fundraising event, in the hope of raising thousands of pounds for much needed medical equipment.

The Dylan Project will be playing at the Olympiad Leisure Centre, performing tributes to Bob Dylan, but jazzing them up using their own unique style, in aid of the society.

Phil Seldon, who organises fundraising said: "Everyone who went last year said what a smashing event it was.

"We made£2,200 profit, which was way above our suspected target and we're hoping to have the same success this year.

"The money will go towards sending MS sufferers for oxygen treatment, buying motorised wheel chairs, especially padded cushions, and much more that we wouldn't be able to afford without the help with funds."

The disease of the central nervous system requires medical equipment and facilities that social services will not, and cannot afford to supply, Mr Seldon said.

"Lots of people from the society, who aren't very well in the first place, sit at fetes and tombolas and might only make £10 in a day," Mr Seldon said.

"This event raises one substantial amount and saves us doing so many smaller events in the year.

"We've spent a fair amount this year and the proceeds from the band will boost the funds for operating next year."

The Dylan Project will be performing at the Olympiad, Chippenham, on December 6. Tickets cost £15.
