FOMER Cirencester players Matthew Mcentegart and James Constable enjoyed their return to their old club on Tuesday night.

Mcentegart, who left Cirencester in the summer, said: "It was great to come back here and see everyone again. It was even better to come here and win the game."

The Australian midfielder did feel a little more under pressure. He said: "I did feel extra tension before the game. I was a little more nervous than I usually am. I think I put a bit more pressure on myself because I really wanted to beat my old mates."

Constable said: "Before the game I did not speak to any of my friends and tried to put it out of my mind."

But he said it was all laughter between him and the Cirencester players after the match. He said: "I spoke to a few of them and they all there were a lot of jokes, we always took the mick out of each other.

"I had a good chat with the manager Brian Hughes. It was good to shake hands with him again. We had a really friendly chat which was nice."

"There were no hard feelings when I left Cirencester so I was looking forward to coming back here."

Mcentegart found the experience a bit strange. He said: "It was really weird being in the away changing rooms. They are hell of a lot smaller than the home ones.

"This game was a little more personal as I knew most of the players. I think that I really wanted to beat them and they wanted to beat me. The fact that I played here before gave the game a different edge."

Constable thought that knowing the players gave him an advantage. He said: "I have played with most of these players for three years and know them, quite well. I know which foot they are going to play with and can anticipate them better. I knew which side they were going to go so that I could shut them down.

"I suppose they had a similar advantage with me but I did try to mix my play up tonight."

The conditions were poor on Tuesday but midfielder Mcentegart did not find the fog difficult to play in. He said: "It can get foggy up here, I have played in it a few times and it did not cause me any problems."

Constable fund it a little more difficult.

He said: "It made it difficult to see goal kicks. When the ball went high it disappeared, you had to wait for it to come back down again."

The Aussie midfielder is looking forward to the next clash. He said: "It will be good to play them again at our place."

Constable does not think that it will be the same as Tuesday's game. He said: "This game was special for me as I was looking forward to coming back to this ground and seeing everyone again. It was good to see some of the regular Cirencester fans and they did not give me much stick."
