BOROUGH Parade in Chippenham is taking to the skies in a charity balloon launch.
The shopping centre is hosting the high-flying event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief and centre manager Lionel Dicks is appealing for the people of Chippenham to help raise as much cash as possible.
Hundreds of colourful balloons will be released on October 30 and all the proceeds will go to towards the charity, which offers support for cancer sufferers.
Mr Dicks said: "We want as many people as possible to support the launch by sponsoring a balloon, so we can raise a considerable sum for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
"We're offering some great cash prizes as an added incentive, so I predict the event will be a massive success."
Each ticket will be attached to a helium balloon ready for the release. It will carry a special phone number, so the final location of each balloon can be phoned in and recorded. The sponsor of the balloon, which travels the furthest, will win a £100 cash prize, while the finder of the balloon will receive £50.
Tickets cost £1 and can be purchased from Porter Black's public house, The Photo Company, Global West Travel, Number 1 Coffee Company, Shoefayre and Thorntons.
