A NEW organisation aims to build bridges between researchers and the business community.
People who hope to set up the South West Council for Science and Industry have met for the first time.
The shadow council, which is chaired by Sir John Taylor and includes representatives from universities and industries including aerospace, biotechnology and creative media, will work together to shape the council.
Sir John said: "This is an exciting development for the south west. There is growing evidence that industry can benefit from stronger uptake of innovation.
"Our council will work to help regional businesses access the best technologies in the world."
