YOUNGSTERS from Moonrakers Judo Club picked up a handful of medals at the Samurai Junior Boys Mini-mon Championships in Kidderminster.
The first Salisbury competitor was eight-year-old Oliver Pearce, who needed just five seconds to win his debut competitive fight, however he went on to lose his next two contests to far more experienced opposition.
Also representing the club were Chris Webb, Jonathon Sturdy, Matt Mitchell and Chris Burton who all finished in the medals.
Mitchell recorded maximum scores to claim the gold, his second win in as many competitions.
Webb and Sturdy were both deserving silver medallists, while Chris Burton was on the end of a tough referee's decision that relegated him from gold medal position to bronze.
