Screwfix Premier Division - Manager Nigel Tripp praised his players after they came from behind to snatch a win on Tuesday night.
Melksham were behind after 15 minutes thanks to a superb run from striker Craig Blackmore. But two second half goals from striker Jamie Harrison and full back Simmon Allison gave Melksham a deserved win as they dominated the second half.
The manager, who played the full 90 minutes, was delighted with his team's performance. He said: "We showed a lot of spirit to come from behind. In the second half it was a case of when we would score not if. We thoroughly deserved a victory and it was a long time coming."
The opening goal came when Blackmore picked up the ball from inside his own half. He ran the ball down the field, he took on three Melksham defenders with a display of speed and skill. He finished his run off with a pass to his fellow striker who buried the ball from close range.
Jamie Harrison came close to equalising on the half hour mark. New singing Alan Fodder, signed from Sunday league side Holt on Saturday, crossed the ball into the midfielder. He only had to hit the target but somehow missed.
Just after the break Melksham were level. Allison crossed the ball in from the right to striker Cheeseman. He had his back to goal but met the cross with an overhead kick that sent the ball into the corner of the net.
Five minutes later Melksham took the lead. A through ball from Fodder gave Allison the chance to run at goal. He got just inside the box before slotting the ball into the bottom corner.
The manager said he and the players are raring to go for the next game, but they will have to wait until ia week on Saturday.
Tripp's side have to travel to Backwell as they try to work their way up the league table.
Tripp has been watching a couple of players and hopes to bring in two new faces before that game.He will not reveal who they are but he is confident that they will sign.
