Screwfix First Division - A showdown with his players was the key to struggling Biddestone's second victory of the season said manager Gary Skidmore.
Skidmore called the crisis meeting last week after his team, already bottom of the Screwfix First Division, were knocked out of the Wiltshire Senior Cup by Amesbury.
Skidmore said: "It was a successful meeting. We all decided to change the team tactics and play more risky but attacking football. The players voiced their opinions and I voiced mine. The players left on Wednesday all fired up for the game."
It resulted in an improved performance on Saturday as Biddestone romped to an impressive victory and lifted themselves to fifth from bottom with a goal in each half from striker Luck Gullick.
Skidmore said: "We never felt in danger as we controlled the whole game. It looked like we were always going to score. We did not look like a team at the bottom of the league.
"I am sure if we carry on like this we can keep our Screwfix status. This is the first time that we have been in this league and I do not want to go back to the Wiltshire league."
Shepton had the first chance of the game on eight minutes and were denied the lead due to a superb double save from keeper Chris Snoddy. The first shot came in from 20 yards and forced a fine diving save, which Snoddy parried to the visiting striker who was lurking on the penalty spot.
He hit his shot first time and Snoddy did well to get up and push the shot round the post.
Shepton came close again on 28 minutes from a corner. The ball was sent into the box for their giant centre back to send a header crashing against the crossbar.
Biddestone's opener cam,e from a move that was started by a goal kick. Snoddy hoofed the ball to left-winger Jack Nicholas who took it into the box. His shot was parried and went straight back to him. Just as Nicholas was about to strike the ball again a defender clipped his heels and gave away a penalty.
Gullick stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way as he sidefooted the ball into the left corner.
Right-winger Dean Brookman hit the side netting from 20 yards just before half time.
It took Biddestone five minutes of the second period to double their advantage.
Nicholas ran the ball from the halfway line and threaded it to Gullick. He played a one two with Brookman and slotted the ball home.
Gullick almost bagged his hat trick on 58 minutes. A dazzling run to the edge of the box was followed by a fearsome drive that went inches wide of the post.
Midfielder and captain Will Edwards came close for Biddestone again ten minutes from time.
Defender Mark Smith gave the ball to Edwards and he got himself in a good position. But his 25 yards shot went just over the bar.
Skidmore was delighted with his players. He said: "We were all spot on today, from the keeper to the strikers, everyone had a great game."
Due to a Wiltshire U18s game Biddestone will be not be playing again until their Les Philips cup match against Keynsham at home next Wednesday.
