DEVIZES Town Youth under nines made a great start to this season's Wiltshire Times and Chippenham News Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League Cup with an 8-0 win over Trowbridge Town Youth.
Andrew Wilkins led the scoring with five goals and Bradley Hill (2) and Joe Merritt were also on target.
FC Chippenham 2nds faced team-mates FC Chippenham 1st with the latter seeing their way into the next round with a 6-0 victory with goals from George Smith, Ryan Goacher, Corey Minney, Joshua Cullen and Mackenzie Drysdale (2).
Chippenham Town Rangers took a 4-1 lead at the break in their game at Larkhall Athletic before going on to finish 9-3 winners.
Callum Hussey (2), Alex James (2), Lewis Bishop and Dominic Staples-Preston (4) scored for Rangers.
A committed Castle Combe Colts produced an unexpected win and all round good team performance to run out 5-2 winners at home to Chippenham Town Youth. Castle Combe's goals came from Casey Bean (2), Liam Wootten (2) and an own goal.
A very close game between Worton and Cheverell and visitors Bath Arsenal saw chances at both ends but no goals. Extra-time failed to produce goals and the game was decided on penalties, with Worton running out 4-2 winners.
Under 10s
LAST season's finalists AFC Corsham Jaguars won an exciting league cup first round tie at Chippenham Town Youth by the odd goal in seven.
Corsham started brightly and took the lead after ten minutes when Tim Fitzgerald played the ball down the wing to Conner Stiles who worked the ball across goal. Adam Mitchell's first shot was blocked but he finished off on the rebound.
Chippenham continued to threaten and drew level just before half time and then went into a two goal lead within five minutes of the restart.
It seemed as if it would not be Corsham's day with Kellett, May and Mitchell all hitting the woodwork. Corsham's second goal with ten minutes remaining was the turning point in the match. Harry Roberts picked up the ball in midfield and ran at the Chippenham defence taking on two players before squaring it to the unmarked Mitchell who calmly side footed the ball into the net.
Mitchell completed his hat-trick when, following good work by Kalif Barnes, he thumped in the equaliser.
Chippenham looked tired and Corsham won it with a minute of normal time to go. Kieren Moses won a tackle in the midfield and played the ball up to Mitchell who coolly lobbed the keeper from outside the area.
Red division Malmesbury Youth held Calne Town Youth from the Blue Division until the final minutes of the game when Calne scored the only goal.
Worton and Cheverell took a 2-0 lead at the break at Melksham Town Youth. Melksham raced into a 4-2 lead in the second half but the determination of the visitors saw them level at 4-4 at the final whistle. Melksham regained the lead at 5-4 in the first period of extra time then held out for the remainder of the game.
Warminster Highbury dominated their tie against home side AFC Corsham Leopards running out 3-1 winners. Corsham gave a great team performance but couldn't make their chances count. William Jacomb scored for Corsham.
Two goals apiece from Steve Hayes, Nicki Mumford and Curtis Trudgeon were enough to see FC Chippenham into the next round with a 6-0 home win against Worton and Cheverell.
Under 11s
THE Red Division game between Calne Town Youth and visitors Derry Hill United started off at a tremendous pace, with both sides playing some excellent passing football.
Derry Hill took the lead midway through the first half following a goal mouth scramble after Calne had a goal disallowed for offside. Calne stuck to the task and Ben Deugo out sprinted Derry's defence to tie the game at 1-1 at the break.
Both sides had chances during the second half to take the lead but it was Thomas Sigee who put Calne ahead with an unstoppable shot from eight yards.
Calne furthered their lead through one of their unsung heroes, Simon Halliday, who from 12 yards left the goalkeeper with no chance to score his first league goal for Calne.
Man of the match was Calne captain Daniel Wheeler for an outstanding performance.
Under 12s
TROWBRIDGE Wanderers 2nds battled hard in their game against home side Chippenham Town Youth but the confident passing and clinical finishing from Chippenham proved too much for the Wanderers.
Chippenham took the game at 11-0, with goals from Richard Bray (3), Oliver Emerson, Robin Gamble, Alex Jenkins, Dewi Jones, Ted Neuman, Chris Newth (2) and Oliver Webb.
A double hat trick for Josh Archer and strikes from Luke Minnis (2) and Nathan Edwards gave Calne Town Youth a 9-0 win at Melksham Park.
Under 13s
FC CHIPPENHAM won their second game on the bounce with a 5-2 win at home to Westbury Youth.
Blackmore (2), Copeland, Flynn and Butterfield scored for Chippenham with Greenslade and Coxall replying for Westbury.
In the Red Division AFC Corsham beat newcomers Sherston Youth 3-1, with goals from Lee Marshall, Jamie Kennie and Jack Payne.
Under 14s
MELKSHAM Town Youth took a 1-0 lead at the break in their away game against FC Chippenham, but second half goals from Jack Tyzack-Smith (2) and Tom Webb saw Chippenham through to the next round with a 3-2 final score.
In the Blue Division the between Chippenham Town Youth and visitors Warminster Highbury Youth provided an end to end game between two evenly matched teams.
Chippenham took the lead through David Brown with Highbury drawing level before taking the lead just before the break. The second half remained even with Zak Klukowski equalising from the penalty spot to finish the game level at 2-2.
In the Green Division Pewsey Vale have taken seven points for their last three games following their 4-3 away win against AFC Corsham.
Luke Little (2), Aaron Presley and Kyle Benker scored for Pewsey with Daniel King and Daniel Purser (2) replying for Corsham.
Under 15s
TROWBRIDGE Town Youth proved far too strong for their Red Division opponents Marlborough Town in their preliminary round tie and goals from Scott Cunningham (8), Toby Dawson (4), Liam Milburn (4), Craig Sheppard (3), Danny Amoroso (2), Josh Phillips (2) plus singles from Tom Parr and Josh Day saw them through to the first round proper by 25-0.
Chippenham Town Youth caught home side Warminster Highbury cold, taking an early lead before going on to lead 7-0 at the break. The second half was much more even, with Chippenham scoring three further goals with two in reply to see the game end at 10-2 to Chippenham. Sam Martin and Jay Pinell scored for Highbury.
Joel Moody scored for home side Melksham Park but goals from Chris Newman, Jake Peglar, Adam Wood, James Hofstead and Phil Wootten put paid to their cup exploits with a 7-1 final score to AFC Corsham.
Calne Town Youth won the first half of their game against Castle Combe Colts 3-0, with Castle Combe winning the second half 2-1 to see the game end at 4-2 to Calne. Matthew Steelyard and Josh Taylor scored for Castle Combe.
Under 16s
CALNE Town Youth now face Barbury in the first round of the cup following their 6-3 away win against Melksham Park.
Melksham raced into a 3-0 lead, with Calne making 3-1 before the interval. Calne stepped up a gear in the second half netting five with no reply.
