ANGRY Corsham manager Colin Bush is furious over an FA ruling that two of his best young players must miss a vital FA Vase tie to play for Wiltshire U18s in the FA Youth Cup.
Scott Lye and Jamie Lyons will miss Corsham's game at Backwell United to face Worcester at Kidderminster on Saturday.
He said: "To start with I am without Toby Colbourne who is cup tied and Frank Coleman who is still recovering from a mouth injury. Now I have lost Scotty and Jamie.
"We have gone all the way down to the depths of Cornwall to play Wadebridge to get to this round and now the FA are stopping me from fielding a full strength side. This doesn't seem right to me. We think that the rule should be looked at. This is a massive game for the club and the FA are making us a lesser side."
The Wilts FA rule states that if the players are unavailable for Wiltshire then they cannot play for any other club. Because the FA Vase is a national competition, Corsham cannot rearrange the fixture. Unlike Biddestone, who also have players joining the Wiltshire squad. As they are playing in the Screwfix league, which is not a national competition, they have been allowed to rearrange their game against Ilfracombe.
But Wiltshire U18 manager Mel Gingell said: "I have selection worries of my own. Colin does not appreciate that we are in the same boat. I am responsible to pick the best side so that we can progress. I if don't then I am not doing my job properly.''
Devizes manager Mark Godley is also losing a player ahead of their FA Vase game against Willand Rovers. He said: "We are losing our goalkeeper Jez Hare. We are just getting on with things."
