Pupils at Broad Hinton Primary School have recorded their very own Christmas CD to help raise funds to buy gymnastics equipment for their new school hall.
Nearly 100 sweet singing four to 11 year old pupils from the Church of England school spent yesterday recording a 16-track CD with songs reflecting the school and liturgical year.
It is hoped the CD will become a treasured keepsake for the pupils and create a memory of their time at Broad Hinton as well as raising extra funds.
Jenni Moseling, 58, is a retired local resident who runs the school choir and has spent the last five weeks doing rehearsals with the pupils in preparation for yesterday's recording.
She said: "It went very well. In fact the singing got better as it went along.
"I think it's been a great experience for them and they do enjoy singing."
Kerry Blower from Whitehorse recording studio visited the school to help record the so far unnamed CD.
Headteacher Jo Pitchforth said: "It was a really unique experience and now we've immortalised their voices forever.
"We've got to choose the cover and then we can market it and sell it for Christmas to all the grannies and mums and hopefully raise money for PE and ICT equipment."
The pupils, who start their ten-day October break today, are also competing in a competition to design the cover for the CD, which will go on sale in mid-November.
