TRAFFIC police are trying to trace a lorry they believe was being overtaken when two cars crashed on the Burbage-Salisbury road on Tuesday at about 7am.
On the A338 between Collingbourne Ducis and Collingbourne Kingston a black Daewoo hatchback car was in collision with a blue Volkswagen Golf GTI that was travelling in the opposite direction.
Both cars were severely damaged and both drivers, whose homes are in Swindon and Tidworth, received chest injuries and were taken by ambulance to Salisbury District Hospital.
Police press spokesman David Taylor said it was believed that, at the time of the collision, a large lorry travelling towards Marlborough may have been overtaken but was not hit by either of the cars involved.
No details of this lorry are known and police say they want to speak to the driver to see if he can help them with their inquiries.
Members of the public who may have witnessed the collision or seen the vehicles immediately prior to it, or the lorry driver himself, are requested to contact PC Jeff Weston at Salisbury Traffic Police on (01722) 435355 if they have not already done so.
