MORE than 270 people have requested the Adver's Halloween posters in the run-up to the October 31.
The posters are aimed at deterring Halloween tricksters, and are only a phone call away for anybody who wants one.
They are produced in partnership with Swindon police, and say: "Have a happy Halloween but please don't trick or treat here."
Halloween is a fun time for many, but for some householders, especially the elderly, trick or treaters can cause distress.
The first to put up one of our posters was grandmother Jean Lawrence, 72.
She said: "As you get older, you tend to be more wary about people knocking at the door.
"The scary masks kids can buy nowadays also increase the fear and intimidation."
If you would like a Halloween poster, call 01793 501880 and leave your name, address and a daytime telephone number. A poster will be sent to you.
