A man who had beaten his heroin addiction fell to his death in a pub garden after performing a party trick which went tragically wrong.
Roland Fisher, 27, who was born in Swindon, had spent years battling his drug problem and had lived through some grim times, according to his mother, Rosalind Duncan, 46.
Together they thought the worst times were over.
The accident happened in a Bristol pub garden on Monday, September 27.
Mrs Duncan said her son was jumping onto a wall and lost his footing and fell, hitting his head. He died in hospital on October 10.
She used to live in Rodbourne Cheney, moved to Bristol in 1976.
Her son's funeral will be held this afternoon at Camford Crematorium, Westbury-on-Trym.
