Following the hasty removal of all cleaning equipment in the Hughenden Yard toilet when the local reporter was spotted, I noticed this weekend that most of it in once again being stored as before. What does this cynical disregard of people with disabilities say about Marlborough?
I am amazed at the thoughtlessness shown by all involved. Some have had years to put this right and a few people have had at least four months. That is plenty of time to turn this disgraceful situation around.
Let us hope that none of the people involved will ever suffer an injury that renders them disabled and
inflicts the indignity of having to use a toilet that is cluttered with dirty equipment, has tiles falling off the walls, has a permanent puddle on the floor and is thoroughly unhygienic. How very demoralising this must be for disabled residents or visitors to our town.
