County Vase - An under strength Cricklade team were no match for Pewsey at their Memorial Ground on Saturday.
In ideal rugby conditions Pewsey stretched the Cricklade defence straight from the start and the visitors did well to hold the home side to only a five point advantage at half time, a try to centre Phil Day.
In the second half Pewsey continued to probe Cricklade's creaking defence, and as the game progressed, they found the holes that enabled them to run in a further three tries with one conversion.
Despite the score Cricklade showed superiority in the scrum, rolling maul and line-out, but their strategy, passing and handling from these plays let them down badly and the hard won possession was repeatedly squandered.
Pewsey on the other hand competed well in these situations and used good handling, speed and sound tactics to fully exploit their possession.
Pewsey play at home league game against Hungerford this Saturday.
