With an ever increasing injury list, Chippenham combined their second and third team players for this fixture.
Corsham kicked two penalties to give them a 6-0 advantage but after 20 minutes, Chippenham finally gained field position and slow ball from the home forwards was charged down by Chippenham fly-half Ian Bannister. He headed for the try line to touch down and brought the score to 6-5.
Chippenham continued to attack with some strong runs from Darren McMillan and Chris Cook almost breaking the defensive line. With the last play of the first half, a quick tap move by Dan Shuker gave Chippenham another five pointer and they took a four point lead into the break.
To start the second half, Bannister chipped the ball over the Corsham defence and a penalty was conceded. Chippenham won the scrum and Bannister again beat the cover defence to score his second try of the game.
Some strong tackling and running by Fraser McNaught, Shuker and James Cook led to another try when McNaught charged over the line to score.
Corsham did score a late try, but the visitors held on.
