TIMES: A CHIPPENHAM man has appeared in court after he was found carrying ecstasy and shouting abuse towards a kebab shop.
Chippenham Magistrates' Court heard on Thursday how Charles Crisp, 22, of Station Hill, was arrested shortly before 1pm on September 25.
Prosecuter Becky Abbott described how a police officer discovered Crisp swearing and shouting towards a kebab shop on Station Hill. Crisp refused to stop and was arrested.
He was searched and a plastic bag containing two-and-a-half blue MDMA tablets was found.
Miss Abbott said: "He was out celebrating his birthday and had been drinking since 10am."
She said Crisp has little memory of the incident and had no idea where the drugs came from.
Crisp, who defended himself in court, said: "I got chased out of the kebab shop with a knife. As to the pills I honestly cannot remember where they came from."
Crisp pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly, possessing a class A drug and failing to surrender. He was fined £30, ordered to pay £34 costs and given a 12 month conditional discharge for the MDMA.
