MUSICAL youngsters are being invited to play in the first joint corps band in the country.
The air, sea and army cadets hope to come together to form a joint corps of drums, the first in the country to involve all three cadet groups.
Jennifer Polledri, of the Wessex Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, said she had the idea to form the band after she discovered there was no musical element in the cadet force.
She said: "It's really quite exciting because nobody has ever done it before. It has taken about six months to organise."
Called Strike Up The Band, it will be launched with a workshop at the Achilles headquarters on Frome Road, Trowbridge at 10.30am. This will be followed at 12.30pm by public display in The Shires. Youngsters interested in taking part can contact Mrs Polledri on (01225) 768202.
