A SCHOOL in Trowbridge was given the benefit of top class training by professional coaches thanks to a lottery-funded scheme.
Pupils at Larkrise School, Ashton Street, were given six weeks' training as part of the Swindon Football in the Community programme before taking part in, and winning, a school tournament held at Devizes School's pitch.
The scheme is the latest event organised by Sport England to give pupils the chance to take part in a wide range of sports.
Teacher Margaret Douglas said: "The children had a fantastic day. It was not the fact that they were winning but it was the taking part. They had such a wonderful time."
