Annette Goodchild got six months after breaching an injunction banning her from Swindon's red light district.
She failed to appear at the county court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Senior solicitor for Swindon Council, Francis Maples said: "This will send a clear message to others that the authority and residents associations will remain energetic in combating street prostitution."
Goodchild, 37, of Cranmore Road was one of three made subjects of injunctions in January, banning them from the Manchester Road area. Five others got similar bans the previous year. They are excluded from the area 6pm-6am weekdays.
