TIMES: THE demise of a Sunday League football team has provided a welcome boost for youngsters at a Chippenham primary school.
Former players from West End Social Club ensured their now defunct team left a lasting legacy in the town by donating £340 to Redlands School.
Coupled with a £100 grant from Chippenham firm CMC Ltd, the school's A and B teams now have new kits to play in.
The strip was launched by former West End players Pete Jefferies and Campbell Hamilton and former England footballer Andy Sinton, who joined pupils for their sports week.
Headteacher Hilary Walton said: "The team had some money left in their funds and they wanted to find a good concern to benefit."
"They look wonderful and the children are highly excited. You never know it may bring on a winning streak on the field," she said.
