OCTOBER 25-30 2004, BATH: AUDIENCES all over the world have been dazzled by Moscow City Ballet's spectacular performances and next week the group makes a welcome return to Bath with two productions, Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty, both set to Tchaikovsky's emotive score.

The dazzling spectacle of a large cast of supremely skilled dancers, gorgeous costumes and magnificent staging combine to make an unforgettable and truly magical experience.

Half price children's tickets are available for this half-term treat.

Swan Lake combines Tchaikovsky's sublime score with the romance of the well-loved story, a perfect backdrop for the artistry, grace and precision for which this great company is renowned.

The original choreography of Petipa, Ivanov, Vaganova, Grigorovich and Ryzhenko takes the breathtaking power of the dancers to its furthest limits in a magnificent production of this timeless and beloved classic. The enchanting story of The Sleeping Beauty inspired Tchaikovsky to write some of his most glorious music and the ballet has captivated audiences for over 100 years.

Featuring the delicate Princess Aurora, her gallant Prince, the Lilac Fairy and a host of fairytale characters, the ballet provides the perfect setting for the dramatic and lyrical talents of the company.

After touring extensively around the world, Moscow City Ballet has firmly established itself as one of Russia's leading ballet companies.

The company's first performance outside Russia was in 1989, in Seoul, South Korea.

Since then the company has made highly successful visits to the USA, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Phillipines and Europe amongst many other countries, together with performances in their native Russia.

In March 2001, the group celebrated its 1,000th UK performance during a sell-out tour of Great Britain.

With just four performances of Swan Lake and four of The Sleeping Beauty, catch Moscow City Ballet while you can.
