Heavy rain played havoc with the Premier Division programme, just three matches getting the go ahead.

AFC Stratton were more than delighted that they braved the monsoon conditions, running out 8-2 winners over visitors Shrewton United Reserves.

Stratton secured the services of Paul Day from Hungerford in midweek and the striker made a dream start scoring four goals on his debut for the club.

Assistant manager Rick Casey also got in on the act, scoring the other four to put the home side back among the leaders and a smile back on the face of manager Tony Dyer.

He said: "We needed a new face in the line up and Paul agreed to sign for us in midweek and what a difference he made to the team. It was a good all round performance in dire conditions."

Bromham's game against Purton also survived the conditions, the home side eventually winning 4-0.

The game was goalless until Bromham boss John Boatman made a double substitution bringing on Jerry Thompson and Nathan West.

Almost immediately the move paid off when Thompson forced a corner and from the flag kick Tom Paget rose above the Purton defence to head Bromham into the lead.

Thompson then helped himself to two goals and Danny Powell chipped the fourth.

Marlborough Town were beaten 2-0 on their own ground by Melksham, who took a first-half lead with a strike from James Huff.

The home side fought back after the break but their fate was sealed when Dan Fry put through his own goal.

Leaders of Junior One, Down Ampney and Stratton Rovers fought out a seven goal thriller with a last-minute goal giving Ampney a 4-3 victory.

Neil Brimson gave Rovers an interval lead with a strike early in the game with Lee Harper equalising soon after the restart.

Rich Slattery then put Ampney in front but back came the visitors to regain the lead with goals from Jamie Townsend.

In an action packed last 15 minutes, Alan Whitefield struck to bring the sides back on level terms.

Rich Slattery was sent off, Colin Yeates missed a penalty for Rovers with just five minutes to go and in the last minute Terry Moore scored the winner.

Two goals from Ricky Hewittson and one each from Jim Hearn and Craig Roberts had given Westside a four goal advantage over Cricklade Reserves when the referee abandoned the game due to a serious leg injury sustained by Cricklade's Ben Hollingshead.

The Cricklade sub had only been on the pitch five minutes before a harmless looking challenge ended with the player departing in an ambulance to hospital.

Swindon Asians and Blyskawica shared six goals, Ashraf Alli, Martin Johnson and Vincent Elliott on target for the home side and Fab Stec, Dave Jones and Tom Kopinski for the visitors.

AFC Stratton Reserves kept their unbeaten record with a 2-1 away win over West Swindon, Justin Lowe and new signing Wayne Petrie for Stratton and Pete Wiggins for the home side.

Biddestone Reserves gained their second win of the season, beating visitors Lower Stratton 2-1 with both goals coming from Nick Joyce in the first half.

Junior Two leaders Castle Combe maintained their unbeaten record, beating visitors AFC Rodbourne 7-2.

Second placed Barron Heating beat Wroughton Reserves 3-1 Ben Kimber, Ben Taylor and an own goal doing the damage.

Two goals from Brynn Sutton and one each from Rich Horner and Paul Farrel gave Westlecot a 4-3 win over Blunsdon Reserves and Westside Reserves had a welcome change of luck beating Stratton Rovers Reserves 4-1.
