FAIRFORD recorded a win in the First Round of the Gloucestershire Senior Trophy, winning 5-1 at Patchway.
It sounds comfortable enough, but the Hellenic Premier outfit were taken to extra-time.
The visitors went 1-0 down when Robert Pope scored on the half hour.
Teenage brothers Adam and Ben Snook were introduced after the break and the equaliser eventually arrived when Sam Reason netted with five minutes left.
Phil Corcoran put Fairford ahead four minutes into the additional period.
The forward grabbed his second on 100 minutes and completed his hat-trick with a fine strike before Reason added a late fifth to ensure safe progress to round two.
