HOMEOWNERS are being urged to think about how much power they use this week.
The Energy Saving Trust, the organisers of Energy Efficiency Week, are asking people to think twice before switching on electrical appliances.
This year the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has spent £260 million on sustainable energy measures.
But it's not enough and the trust says homeowners need to make more of an effort.
Simple steps like not leaving TVs and videos on standby, switching off lights and using energy-saving light bulbs can help conserve power and cut carbon emissions.
Research carried out by the trust with help from the UK Climate Change Impact Programme shows a link between climate change and energy conservation.
