PENSIONERS are reminded to join our campaign for a trouble-free Halloween. By calling our office, householders can request a poster warning trick or treaters not to call.
In just over a week, hundreds have been sent out.
Among those to benefit are members of the Swindon branch of the Wiltshire Blind Association.
Street wardens are also handing them out in Parks and Walcot.
The campaign is being run with Swindon Police, who say they are always inundated with calls on Halloween. There are fears that trouble could be worse this year because of masks being sold at Asda Wal-Mart on the Orbital Retail Park.
However, the store has acted to stop one unpleasant side to Halloween.
It has banned the sale of eggs to under-16s to stop them being thrown at properties.
For a Halloween poster call 01793 501880 and leave your name, address and daytime phone number.
A poster will be sent to you.
