WANBOROUGH, the youngest bowls outfit in Wiltshire, are celebrating a club first.
They were formed in 1999 and with their new green at Hoopers Field up and running were affiliated to the Wiltshire Bowls Association in 2000.
They play in the various Swindon & District Leagues and competitions and field three teams in the Men's Monday Afternoon Triples League.
And their B team, second in Division 3, set club history by becoming the first team to gain promotion.
Also one of their members, Tony Glasscoo, will be installed next month as the S&D men's new president for the 2005 outdoor season.
IN the S&D Afternoon Men's Triples Leagues Westlecot A, Wootton Bassett B and Supermarine are relegated from Division One and are replaced by the top three from Division 2 Wroughton A, Stratton Churchways C and Wootton Bassett A.
From Division 2, Penhill B, Marlborough and Haydon Wick A are relegated with Stratton Churchways B, Wanborough B and Supermarine B moving up from Division 3.
