FORGET Kerry and Bush, Homer Simpson should be the next US president according to a poll of British Radio Times readers.
The doughnut-loving dad topped the poll to find which American TV character should be voted in to the White House.
Josiah Bartlet, the president played by Martin Sheen in drama series The West Wing, was an appropriate choice for second place. Third was Kelsey Grammer's Dr Frasier Crane, followed by Sgt Bilko of The Phil Silvers Show.
Phoebe Buffay from Friends, Jack Bauer from 24 and even Tony Soprano from The Sopranos all made the top 10 according to the 2,000 readers who voted.
The new series of the Simpsons begins on Channel 4 next month.
