HAVING had the good fortune to have participated in half marathons around Great Britain and some parts of Europe, I was delighted to compete in one again (at long last) on home ground.
Definitely a most spectacular and colourful event to grace Swindon roads and beautiful surrounding countryside.
There could have been a few more signs put up indicating where you have to go, like changing, parking, start etc.
Nevertheless considering it was their first time the organisation was absolutely superb. They even had portable toilets en route.
I would like to thank the Evening Advertiser, Nationwide, Swindon Council and Swindon Cares Charity for putting on a very professional and worthwhile event.
And let's not forget the spectators who cheerfully cheered us on, the competitors, marshals, police, GWR and all the volunteers to make this all happen. A fabulous effort was made by everyone.
I hope this very special road race, simply runs and runs for many years to come.
