CONVENIENCE foods group Uniq today said it had received a fresh approach just days after rejecting two potential takeover bids.
The group, which makes desserts, ready meals and sandwiches for supermarket chains, said the revised proposal remained subject to significant uncertainties and due diligence.
The update sent shares up six per cent. Last week Uniq received unconnected approaches from two unidentified parties, but said both of them undervalued the business and its prospects. It did not say who had made the latest approach.
The company, based in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, has eight manufacturing sites in the UK, is the largest supplier of sandwiches to Marks & Spencer, and also has contracts with Asda.
