Ref. 73095-513PASSENGERS on the bus above got closer to their stop than expected when it collided with a bus shelter in Old Town.

The number 10 Thamesdown bus ploughed into the shelter outside the Evening Advertiser office in Victoria Road at 10am yesterday.

Eyewitness, Craig Smith, who was working in nearby shop Tower 12, said: "The bus came in quite steeply as there were cars parked along the road.

"Luckily there was no one at the bus shelter." The driver did not wish to comment.

John Owen, the managing director of Thamesdown Transport, said: "There was a bus at the stop and a car parked illegally.

"The driver tried to get between the two and nudged the shelter. There were no injuries and minor damage."
