MARK Draycott endured a losing start to his career as a Swindon Supermarine player last night.
The former Town youth striker was snapped up by Mark Collier on the eve of the Southern League Cup trip to Clevedon after a brief spell at neighbours Chippenham and a summer scoring goals in the United States for Wilmington.
Draycott, pictured, impressed but failed to get on the scoresheet yesterday as Marine were beaten 3-1 at the Hand Stadium.
Draycott's strike partner Dave Toomey opened the scoring from the spot on 42 minutes after a foul on Ian Howell.
It was just reward after a dominant first-half showing, but the good work was undone on the stroke of half-time when Jack Pitcher swooped following a Clevedon corner.
Mike Regan put the hosts ahead midway through the second period and Kye Holly struck the killer third in the 87th minute as Marine pushed to salvage something.
Elsewhere, Devizes successfully negotiated their first round replay in the FA Vase, beating Willand Rovers 2-1 at Nursteed Road.
Nick Mooney's first-half brace put Mark Godley's men in the driving seat.
Danny Gee pulled one back in the second half, but Devizes held on to book a trip to fellow Screwfix Premier side Frome in the next round.
