The power breakfast is back in fashion, but this time it's not just 'high-flying' business executives who are reaping the benefits of an early morning meeting businessmen and women from all walks of life are joining in the networking revolution.
Networking organisation, Business Referral Exchange (BRE) is setting up a local group in Chippenham to provide people in diverse trade sectors with the opportunity to develop their business through 'word-of-mouth' marketing.
"It is generally accepted that more than two-thirds of new business leads come through word-of-mouth marketing better known as referrals and recommendations", said Andy Lopata, managing director of BRE Networking.
"Business acquired through recommendation is more likely to convert into ongoing business and lead to further referrals.
"In the current economic climate, people prefer to use recommended services, and companies are keen to work together to grow their businesses.
"By joining a BRE group they can take the first step towards making it happen."
The key to BRE's success is in its structured weekly breakfast meetings in an informal atmosphere with the unashamed aim of generating business among members.
BRE members develop the relationships and understanding of their business that can, over time, lead to an increased network of clients and a substantial amount of new business.
They also benefit from networking training, a growing programme of events, enhanced presentation and networking skills and a strong supply and support network.
Mr Lopata sees BRE's relationship with its members as a partnership
"We take very seriously our responsibility to be proactive, and are always working to enhance the services we provide.
"The benefits of BRE membership are there to be taken advantage of, but it is up to our members to make it happen," he said.
A meeting of founder members for the Chippenham group is being held on Wednesday, November 3 from 6pm to 8 pm at The Angel Hotel.
Anyone who hasn't already signed up is welcome to attend and find out more about the group, but there is only one 'slot' available for each trade or profession.
