Corsham were knocked out of the FA Vase and manager Colin Bush insists his side need to be more ruthless.
"We are playing some great football, we are just failing with the end product. We need to be more clinical in front of goal," he said.
Corsham looked like the only team that would score as they controlled the first half and their first opportunity came on 15 minutes. Captain Nigel Curtis made a surging run down the centre of the field; he played a one-two with Griffin but the keeper saved his shot with a great dive to his left.
Left-winger John Aldred created Corsham's next chance just five minutes later. His picked the ball up and made a run into the penalty area. He took on a defender but the keeper deflected his shot onto the crossbar.
Defender Dan Beck hit the ball narrowly over the bar from the edge of the box on the half-hour.
Two minutes after the break Griffin came close. He received the ball inside the box, turned and unleashed a shot that the keeper just got a fingertip to and it flew over the bar.
The home side stormed into the lead against the run of play on 50 minutes. They broke down the left and crossed. Keeper Craig Chaplin punched the ball out and it fell to the striker who drove it at goal. Chaplin managed to parry the ball but it only got as far as their midfielder who smashed the ball into the roof of the net from 15 yards out.
Bush made three substitutions and changed his formation to three up front. Striker David Killmurry came on for defender Russell Lodge, Ryan Bush came on for Alan Webb and Gary Blackwood came on for Dave Hopkins.
As Corsham pushed on to get the equaliser they left holes at the back. On 80 minutes the hosts doubled their lead on the counter attack. The ball was played forward to striker Ryan King, he ran all the way into the box, went round Chaplin and passed the ball into the empty net.
Two minutes from time Corsham grabbed a goal back. A high ball came into the box and defender Colin Towler challenged the keeper for the ball. The shot stopper pushed it out to Alan Griffin who volleyed the ball into the net.
Corsham's are away in the league to Bitton this Saturday.
