THE group with the task of developing a parish plan for Great Cheverell has a secret weapon to ensure the co-operation of local residents fun.
Having succeeded in gaining a grant of just under £3,000 from the Countryside Agency to finance the administration of the plan, which seeks to collate local opinion on how the parish should develop in the future, the steering committee now has to canvass that opinion over the next few months.
The committee has invited local design student Luke McKay-Morris to come up with a series of "teaser" posters.
It is hoped these will draw attention to the plan, which will be going up all over the parish in the next few days.
The committee is also using some of its grant to throw a party for the village on November 20. Called The Cheverell Comedy Club, the event stars local comedian and entertainer Fraser Hooper.
At the party, villagers will have their first glimpse of a new village website.
There will also be a raffle with prizes including a week's stay at a French holiday home and a trip in a glider.
