14411/1YOUNGSTERS are hoping people will snap up toys at an auction to raise money for their Scout group.
The 6th Devizes (St James) Scout group is raising money for camping equipment, outings and a Christmas party, and is holding a toy auction on November 8.
The group has received donations of new toys totalling £1,000 for the auction.
The toys include Lego, Barbie, Galt, Nickelodeon, Scholastics and Collins Books.
Donations have been made from Baileys Books in Devizes, Argos in Swindon, Wentworth Wooden Jigsaw Company in Malmesbury, Penguin Books, Littlewoods and Kidz Biz.
Devizes auctioneer Alan Aldridge is giving his services free for the auction at the town hall.
There will be 80 lots and viewing will be from 7pm with the start at 7.30pm.
There will be Littlewood Index gift vouchers available as prizes for a £1 lucky draw.
Cherry Beaver, organiser of the auction, said: "The donations we have received are great and we are hoping people looking for Christmas presents or any other occasions will be interested in bidding for them."
The Scout group has ten Cubs and 16 Beavers, both boys and girls, and there is a waiting list for new members. It has been established for more than 20 years.
The group is still appealing for donations of new toys for the auction. If you can help contact Cherry Beaver on 07866 685750.
