A DEVELOPER could be forced to carry out works on a block of flats after residents complained about noise.
Residents in Linden Court, at the junction of Henry Street and Bridge Street in Swindon, say they cannot sleep and their health is suffering because of noise from traffic on Henry Street.
Linden Homes Western Ltd, which built the flats, was supposed to make sure that the traffic noise was not too loud within the homes but failed to meet the conditions so now has to go back to Swindon Council's planning committee to ask for permission for the flats to be retained.
The council's officers have recommended that Linden Homes is told it must carry out work to reduce the noise in the flats by February 1, 2005.
The planning committee will consider the case at 7pm on Tuesday, November 2, at the Civic Offices, Swindon.
