Ref. 73106-42PARENTS and children who pay regular visits to the Jolly Roger Adventure were not quite so jolly when they learn that an act of vandalism has caused £500 worth of damage to the children's indoor play area.
Vandals smashed two 6ft by 4ft panels of double glazed glass at the Greenbridge site using large bricks.
Manager John Boulton, said: "It's just stupid, mindless behaviour.
"A member of my staff discovered the breakage. We called the police and it's going on record as 'an undetected crime.'
"I'm obviously very annoyed that the culprits are going to get away with it but you can't get fingerprints from bricks.
"This is a young children's play area. There are kids of all ages running around barefoot. It's pointless, dangerous vandalism.
"It has an effect on us too, as the cost has to be covered by our takings."
The vandals struck some time on Monday night.
The damage at the front of the building will be repaired as soon as possible and Mr Boulton said all the shards of glass had been removed to ensure the safety of visiting children.
