16055/2A LIBRARY in Melksham celebrated in style after notching up 40 years at its present home.
The library in Lowbourne organised two events to mark the anniversary of its move from Bank Street in September 1964.
A children's party on Saturday attracted 85 children to enjoy clowns, fun and games.
Last month a 60s mostalgia session was held, where staff, volunteers and members of the public were invited to bring along photos, clothing and memorabilia and discuss their memories of the town.
Community librarian Ros Meyer said: "We felt holding a 60s reminiscence party would be a fun way to celebrate four decades of serving the people of Melksham from our current home."
The library was the first in Wiltshire to win a Matrix Standard last year.
The national award is given to organisations delivering information, advice, and guidance services for learning and work purposes.
