16037/4GRAFFITI condoning the use of drugs has been found in a Melksham park just months after a £50,000 refurbishment.
Town councillor Vic Oakman described the vandalism as moronic and said the council could be forced to cut opening hours at Methuen Park.
The council had allowed extended opening hours at the park since the revamp.
"We are trying to do out best to tell children not to speak to strangers and we have got these morons writing about weed. It really is moronic to say the least."
He said the council had allowed the park to stay open until 9pm, but if vandalism continued the gates would be locked at 6pm.
Anti-social behaviour letters are being drawn up by the town council in co-ordination with the police and could be sent out to parents of offenders in an effort to clamp down on the problem.
It could be the first time the letters, handed over by officers to parents, have been used since their introduction earlier this year.
