SWINDON businessman Ken Knox is stepping down after 40 years at the helm of SW Transport.
But the family connection will live on as his youngest son Richard has been given the keys and will be taking over.
Mr Knox said: "It's a proud moment for me. Richard started at SW as a young lad, fresh out of mechanics apprenticeship.
"He began at the bottom and gradually worked his way up, learning about every aspect of business on the way.
"He has worked extraordinarily hard, shown enormous commitment and proven to be a real asset. I feel grateful and confident that my business will be in safe hands."
Richard, 40, said: "Logistics is a tough business to be in but my predecessors have carved out a very strong and very successful company based on sound business strategies, hard work and a good dose of common sense. I would like to think that I will be able to follow in their tracks."
