16049/2AN OSTEOPATH keen to promote health and exercise among children has sponsored a local football team's new kit.
Christian Sullivan, owner of Bradford on Avon Osteopathy Centre has sponsored the town's under 9s football team with new kit featuring "Skellie" the super-fit skeleton.
Team members were presented with their new kit at Victory Sports Field in Culver Close on Saturday.
Mr Sullivan said: "They were over the moon. They all rushed home and put it on and then came roaring down to the next training session."
He said he hoped the kit would help show the importance of playing sport from a young age to develop strong, healthy bones and provide long-term health and fitness.
"We have to get our children exercising and away from the television and computer games and I don't care what it costs really. Otherwise we are in danger of serious and ever growing health problems.
"Growing bones need exercise to reach maximum strength, not to mention the development of healthy muscles, heart and lungs.
"Plenty of sport and exercise is the most effective and enjoyable way for kids to get the best foundations for a healthy life."
