POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old girl was assaulted near the Stallards park in Trowbridge.
The girl was cutting through the park from Stallard Street towards Bradford Road at 10pm on October 1 when a man started following her.
When she reached the car park he grabbed hold of her and tried to put his hand down her trousers, but she managed to fight him off.
Police believe there may have been other people in the area who may have witnessed the incident, and that the man is likely to have been drinking in pubs in Trowbridge town centre before the assault took place.
He is described as white, 40-50 years old, over 6ft tall, with brown hair balding on top. He was unshaven, with a monobrow, red cheeks and a pale face and wore a red shirt, a fleece and dark trousers.
