Ref. 73067-44STAFF at Great Western Hospital are celebrating a windfall from the bookies.
Earlier this month Ladbrokes organised a charity evening at the Swindon greyhound track in Blunsdon.
A dozen local firms took part in the event, which raised £3,700.
The cash will help pay for a new baby monitor, which can help prevent cot death. Hospital spokeswoman Natalie Prinsloo thanked all those involved.
"Their donation will really make a very big difference to the treatment of pregnant mothers and their unborn babies," she said.
Jackie Wilkinson, who works at the betting chain's Regent Circus branch, said the night was a huge success.
"It was very well supported by all the staff," she said. "Ladbrokes regularly donates cash to big charities but we thought it would be nice to raise money for a local cause. The nurses in the maternity ward do a great job."
