A SELL out concert in Wootton Bassett raised £1,150 for the Prospect Hospice in Wroughton.
The Swindon Concert Band played music by Glenn Miller, George Gershwin, Johann Strauss and Andrew Lloyd Webber at the town's memorial hall.
Apart from the music, guest director David Barnard entertained the audience with stories of his experiences playing and conducting in New York and Japan.
Organisers were thrilled by the success of Saturday's concert, which was attended by 160 people.
"This was probably one of the band's best performances and they provided a wonderful evening's entertainment," said organiser Glenys Baker.
The band's next concert will be held at the memorial hall on December 4, starting at 7.30pm. For tickets phone 01793 853617 or visit the Brian Taylor Music Shop in High Street.
