My wife and I do our normal weekly shopping at Tesco.
My wife enjoys exotic fruits from around the world which Tesco supply. On the shelf are displayed different fruits and in among them we pick out and put in our shopping what I believe are called butter apples. They are priced and barcoded on the shelf so we didn't expect any problems from selecting them.
Getting to the checkout we are told we cannot buy them, as the bar coding machine doesn't allow us to purchase them, something to do with 'I believe it's never been entered into the machine.'
I complained to a supervisor asking to see a manager but it seems nobody was in command on Saturday Oct 23 in the afternoon the store seems to run itself, but if I wanted to complain, put it in writing and put it in the box. I asked why are they selling produce that you cannot buy and the reply was 'I don't know.'
Not once did they ask me what the produce was and where it was on the shelf and what checkout had I gone to.
