TOWN boss Andy King has turned to former Welsh international defender Steve Jenkins to add an injection of experience to his back four.
The 32-year-old right-back has signed a one month loan deal with a view to a permanent switch from Peterborough United.
Jenkins will go straight into the side to face Torquay United today with David Duke and Andy Nicholas left to fight it out over the opposite berth.
King feels Jenkins will be a steadying influence in a back line which is big on heart and quality but tender in years.
He said: "I have brought Steve in to come in and perhaps calm things down."
Jenkins has already made one appearance at the County Ground this season, netting the only goal of the game as Barry Fry's Posh took all three points in a 1-0 win on September 11.
The defender is looking forward to life at the County Ground.
He said: "I'm glad to be here, looking forward to it and want to do well for the club.
"The manager needs a right back with experience and thinks I fit the bill."
