THE Highways Agency is reminding drivers safety cameras are in use along the M4 between junctions 16 and 18.
They are being used to remind drivers of temporary speed limits on roadworks to upgrade communications cables.
Dave Frampton, Highways Agency project manager, said: "Road users at weekends and in the evenings often see that all three lanes are open, but we are reminding drivers that regardless of the lane closures, the temporary speed restrictions are in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week until the work is completed."
The £2 million project involves the installation of a new communications cable to provide better information for drivers.
To protect workers, lane one is closed off-peak in the work area and a 50mph speed limit will be in place enforced by the cameras.
