Mark Ingle, 40, right, the proprietor of the Vale Hotel and restaurant in Cricklade High Street has hit out at the actions of a person who threw a paving slab through his car window.
He said that in the early hours of Sunday the slab was thrown at his Smart car, causing £450 damage .
He said: "It's just sick. The person who did this must be very small-minded. All they've achieved is that they have increased the cost of everybody's insurance."
Sgt Phil Elliott, of Cricklade police Station, said: "Between 12.30am and 9am on October 31 somebody attacked Mr Ingle's vehicle in the rear yard of the Vale Hotel. They threw a whole paving slab through driver's window of his car.
"No attempt was made to steal anything. It was just malicious damage, so it looks like somebody has a grudge against him."
Anyone with information should telephone 01793 528111 and ask for PC Elliott.
